When is it good to lie and when is it not?

Everyone lies, it is human nature to try and make a situation better whether it is for you or someone else's benefit everyone does it. The question is when is good to lie and when is it not. Why lie about some things and not others? You would think this could maybe be common sense and realize when something is to deep or important to lie about it but once again people like to hide things or make their situation better rather than just working through it and being honest. The answer to this question can and will be answered differently by each person. Some people are strict and say never lie or whatever but simply that is impossible just about we all lie and deceive whether we want to or not it happens it is human nature. Others think it is okay to lie about little things because they are not as important and it will not matter as much if they are caught. Many people do not want to lie in bigger situations like jobs, money, relationships and issues like that but it still happens everyday because of human nature and wanting to be accepted or look good. Others think it is okay whenever as long as there is personal gain and no one is hurt then some do not put others into account. Many different reasons and situations to lie in but when is it good? If it isn't that important or is a small thing then why even lie about it in the first place? Many people lie about smaller things because of that but why is it okay to lie if it is not that important just tell the truth then but people still no matter what the circumstance people want to look good and better their situation. If it is a relationship lie then why would you lie and if you get caught most likely ruin your relationship but if you tell the truth then maybe they overreact and ruins it any way. There is many questions to answer when talking about lying and why to lie. Everyone's opinion is different but the reasoning for lying are all the same and that is why people lie we know that but what is still truly unknown is when is it good to lie and when is it not. Is the gain or reward greater than the risk or consequences? This varies from person to person because everyones brains think differently and have a different view on such a difficult matter. Lying is everywhere and I am sure most of us lie or deceive daily but was it really worth it? Why not just be honest? I cannot answer that as I know I have lied and deceived many times but honesty seems the way to go until you get in the tough situation when you want to look better or make something better, then human nature takes over because we are just going of instinct, we do not consciously think through the reasoning because we are in the moment and pressured.
